How do I get over his death?
In March of last year, my Miniature schnauzer Flash died. At the time he was living with me, but I had depression and kept shouting at him.
During the last few weeks, he wasn't able to control his bladder. I thought he was just being naughty, but it turned out he had no control over it. I feel so guilty about the way I treated him.
My mum and I brought him to the vet and he told us that Flash would have to be put down. I was so shocked, I couldn't bear to be there when it happened. He looked at me from the table as I left and every now and again I see his face in my mind and the feelings come back again. He was my best friend and I don't know how to stop feeling like this.
I just lost my cat Meep, who was my best friend in the whole entire world. He was such a weird cat that he played tag. I swear! But at Thanksgiving we left to visit relatives for a couple days and Meep ran out the front door before we left. We figured our neighbor would just feed him for us, cause she feeds him anyways. So we came back and he hasn't been back since. Every 2-3 days we checked the pound and the pound in the next city, and I put up flyers everywhere. A little after that my sisters cat of 16 years and mine of 15 years (we had her a year before I was born) died on my bed in my lap. My sister is away at college so she didn't get to see Princess. We were both terribly destraught. This was all at the end of 2006. Princess was an inside cat, and hated other animals, so she got stuck with me in my bedroom. She slept next to me or on my head every single night. lol.There was one day that my mom and I decided that this trip to the pound was going to be our last to search for Meep, and we found a siamese cat (just like Meep) who was going to be put down the next morning. She was so beautiful, so nice, and looked like she would never hurt a fly. We adopted her and she is my new bedroom head sleeper cat/bestfriend. She also hates other animals just like Princess so shes stuck in my bedroom. Even though she doesn't play tag with me like Meep did, she is always there when I need her. I know you will soon find another pet who will help you through your time of need. Flash probably doesn't remember you yelling at him, he probably remembers you most playing with him, and there for him before he was put to sleep at the vet. Theres a song called "When Somebody Loved Me" by Sarach McLauchlin that reminds me so much of Meep, maybe it will help you.

From the 1900s to this day, the inquiry about who actually fashioned the first teddy bear is still debated. In any case, the teddy bear remains a national obsession. Bears of all kinds--plaid bears, fuzzy bears, Viking bears--perch on every available surface. How about a bear with a hood with curlers on it and fuzzy slippers and a robe? It's there too.

Some are holding their own teddy bears; others dress in bear jewelry and carry bear handbags. An enchanting experience for children of any age, this distinctive museum showcases bears in all shapes and sizes including one-of-a-kind teddy bears, limited editions, antique bears, and unique moving displays.
In 1997, the Huis Ten Bosch resort in Nagasaki, Japan, opened the Teddy Bear Kingdom--a 1,300-square-foot replica of a medieval castle with 1,500 vintage and new bears. On April 24, 2001, J.S. International chairman Jesse Kim, who paid $193,477 for a one-of-a-kind contemporary Steiff bear at a charity auction, opened the JeJu Teddy Bear Museum in Korea. The Jeju Teddy Bear Museum opened specially for the European collectors and is more exhilarating than ever with special "Teddy Bear" entertainment.
Since the late 1970s, a generation of "bear artists" has taken tired old teddy to a new level. Art bears are nearly always hand-sewn, one-of-a-kind or limited-edition pieces. They're as diverse and creative as the artists themselves--huggable, droopy-limbed bears, minutely detailed mohair miniatures no bigger than thimbles, bears dressed as hobos, angel bears, clown bears, biblical bears, inquiring bears, shy bears, and bears of every personality, shape and expression.
How has a solitary toy escaped the limitations of age, gender, nationality, culture and faith for over a hundred years? What makes people adhere to their teddy bears, loved to within an inch of their fuzz, for lifetimes? The teddy bear began as a child's plaything, something to soothe and please the young. That bear became a confidante, our best friend, the buddy who kept us secure and protected during the tribulations of youth.
