Hi everybody! I was in American Eagle yesterday, and I was treated vey rudely. Not only that, but when I asked to try something on, I was told that I could not take a hat in the fitting room. I wanted to try it on to see how it looked with my outfit and they said no! I could understand jewelry or underwear...even socks! I have never experienced anything like that.

Hi there! I work at AE and unfortunately hats (along with shoes, underwear, bags, and jewelery) are not allowed into the fitting rooms. That being said at my store we have a large mirror that is in the fitting room area where all the doors are and I always let people try on hats there after they have changed into the outfit they want to buy. I am not sure what the setup of the store is where you live. But the person working the fitting room definately should not have been rude to you. I would talk to the store manager or any manager that is on duty the next time you go back and they will more than likely be able to hear about your issue concerning the rude employee.

Here are some tips for getting the healthiest golf shoes for you:

Take your time when trying potential new golf shoes on. Allow yourself time to walk around in the pro store. DonÂ’t be embarrassed to spend 5 minutes or more feeling the fit of a pair of shoes.

Disneyland is often a dream vacation for many kids and for parents alike. Make your trip fun and easy by following a few simple suggestions in this Guide.

Before you go on your vacation, check out the software called Ridemax. You simply plug in which rides you would like to go on and it prints out a schedule for you with the order and time you should go on the ride. It takes into account when lines are the smallest, so you really maximize your time. Ridemax does not take the spontaneity out of the trip, it just makes it more manageable.

Make sure you stay at a hotel that is across the street, or closer. Parking in the Disney parking lot is $59 per day (the same price as kids admission), so you don't want to have to pay that much or be a slave to a shuttle. It is best stay within walking distance. Once you make it to the parking lot, you can hop on a tram to the front gates. The parking lot is huge, so it's a long walk in itself. Save you legs for walking around Disneyland itself.

Bring snacks and water bottles in a backpack with you to the park to avoid the astronomical prices of food. Things like granola bars, fruit leather, crackers, nuts, peanut butter sandwiches and such work well. Don't bring anything that can melt. If you fly to LA, you can pack a suitcase with just food or if you drive you can stop at a store outside of Anaheim or bring food from home.

Nearly everyone at Disneyland is wearing some type of character clothes. Buy one for each day locally before you come to California. Kmart is a great place to buy Mickey and Pooh t-shirts for girls or boys, at the bargain price of under $10 each. Most little girls wear their princess dresses all day around the park. Disney Princess dresses at the park run anywhere from $60-$100 each, so make sure you buy them one for each day before your vacation. You should expect to pay $20-$40 for a good quality dress. You will see many boys with their pirate clothes and pirate hats on. You can buy these in advance as well.

If you have little girls, the highlight of your vacation will be dinner with the Disney Princesses. The food is actually reasonable and the atmosphere is wonderful. Make sure your child wears her princess dress to the dinner. During the dinner, princesses like Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Snow White, and others will come to your table, talk individually with your child, and even sit with you for a while. As they leave they can take a picture with Ariel (she can't walk around during the dinner because she has fins and not legs).

If you have little boys, make sure you visit Tarzan's Tree house and let them climb trees to their hearts content. Little boys who are in to pirates, will also like the ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Make sure they wear their pirate costume and pirate hat on the ride for extra excitement.

I got my daughter a Bitty Baby for Christmas and people are asking me what outfits they can get her. I saw this really cute Bitty Twin outfit that I know my daughter would love and I also want to get the real girl version for her. Science is generally viewed as a men's world. Females are rarely found tinkering around the laboratory or handling mechanical devices, much less inventing one and having it patented under their name. Patents are the proof of "ownership" of an invention and only the inventor(s) can apply for a patent. In the past, women were not allowed equal rights of property ownership (patents are a form of intellectual property) and many women patented their inventions under their husband's or father's names. In the past, women were also prevented from receiving the higher education necessary for inventing. Today, however, hundreds of thousands of women apply for and receive a patent every year. About 20% of all inventors are currently female and that number should quickly rise to 50% over the next generation.

Among these women inventors from the past to the present, there are African American women inventors. Their number, however, can not be exactly determined. According to EnchantedLearning.com, Sarah S. Goode was the first African American woman to have received a patent in 1885 (patent #322,177, approved on July 14, 1885). She invented the folding cabinet bed, a space-saver that folded up against the wall into a cabinet. When folded up, it could be used as a desk, complete with compartments for stationery and writing supplies. Goode owned a furniture store in Chicago, Illinois, and invented the bed for people living in small apartments.

The second African American woman to receive a patent was Miriam Benjamin who was a Washington D.C. school teacher. She received a patent in July 17, 1888 for an invention she called a "Gong and Signal Chair for Hotels". Her invention allowed hotel customers to summon a waiter from the comfort of their chair. A button on the chair would buzz the waiters' station and a light on the chair would let the wait staff know who wanted service. Miriam Benjamin's invention was adapted and used in the United States House of Representatives.

On April 26, 1892, Sarah Boone's received a patent (U.S. Patent #473,653) for an improvement to the ironing board. Sarah Boone's ironing board was designed to be effective in ironing the sleeves and bodies of ladies' garments. Sarah Boone's board was very narrow and curved, the size and fit of a sleeve, and it was reversible, making it easy to iron both sides of a sleeve.

Perhaps the most famous African American woman inventor of all time is Madame C. J. Walker (December 23, 1867 - May 25, 1919). She was an inventor, businesswoman and self-made millionaire. Born Sarah Breedlove McWilliams C. J. Walker, she was an African-American who developed many beauty and hair care products that were extremely popular. Madame Walker started her cosmetics business in 1905. Her first product was a scalp treatment that used petroleum and a hot comb. Sarah later invented a system for straightening hair. She added Madame to her name and began selling her new "Walker System" door-to-door. Walker soon added a hair-growing ointment and other cosmetic products to her line. The products were very successful and she soon had many saleswomen, called "Walker Agents," who sold her products door to door.

Many of these women grew up in a time when females and colored people were discriminated against. Their social status may have prevented them from getting an education but this did not stop them from exploring their world and finding ingenious solutions to everyday problems. Their innate intelligence and determination had brought them their personal triumph over adversity. Their inventions may not have survived into the 21st century and yet their pioneering spirit will live on in the present generation of women working in the fields of science and technology.

How do people who re short get American Eagle Jeans to fit them?

I wear a size 12 in Abercrombie Kids and I'm hoping to wear American Eagle or Abercrombie & Fitch, but people say they're a little big for me. Then how do people shorter than me fit into their jeans perfectly. I love their jeans so much, please leave me some answers!!!

hey! i used to have this problem and a good solution is if you go online to www.ae.com and search under jeans. Find the pair that appeals to you and then look and the sizes, choose 00 Short and then order it online if possible. This is especially helpful, because most of the AE stores in the mall don't carry that small of a size! hope this helps! Also, maybe try Hollister Co Jeans because they have small sizes as well.

i have an old white cloth doll and i'm looking for more like her please help?

I'm searching for a white cloth doll in a white dress that has strawberries on it and she has blonde hair. she has a win-up tummy and i have a pic of her. i was told that Dillards, where we got here when i was 3 discontinued the doll and they didnt know where to find it anymore. so i have been looking for the doll all over the internet. having no luck. hoping anyone can help.

We all want to be a positive role model for our children, but what happens when a child seeks for an outside source to look up to? Some boys may think their Dad is Superman and can do anything. Some dad's may not be around because of divorce or long work hours. For example, little boys may cling to other superheroes besides their dads, like Batman with his strength and intellect. Girls on the other hand may identify with their mother or other female adult in their life. She may also try to act like a little princess, prim and proper every time she wears her fancy princess dress or her princess accessories. However, when the Cinderella dress comes off, so does the proper behavior and your little princess turns into a nightmare. She may even throw tantrums and kick and scream because you ask her to do something she doesn't want to.

It's normal for kids to have someone to look up to, it is even healthy if they are not indulged and spoiled by being given anything they want. You can tell the child who is spoiled because he will have boxes and bins of Batman comic books that he never reads. Or the little girl who has an overflowing dress up trunk full of 5 of each kind of princess dresses from Cinderella to Snow White. First, set boundaries. Say, "If you want to keep your princess dresses, you will need to take them off before we go out in public. If you decide to throw a tantrum when I ask you the first time, I will take a dress away and you will have to earn it back by doing a chore."

Second, simplify don't indulge. Don't indulge your kids by spoiling them and giving them anything they want. The best bet is to donate your child's toys to those who need them more and stop buying for them frivolously. It sends kids the wrong message when we over consume. Help them understand that what we have is enough and we don't need more. If it's an item they really want, encourage them to earn money to buy it themselves. Usually, by the time they have saved enough money, they understand the value of the item and will take care of it better.

Last, show your love in words and actions. Never let a child wonder if you love him or her. No matter what he does or how much he fights it, let him know that his behavior doesn't make you love him less. Treat her like a princess, but don't let discipline fall by the wayside. The best role model kids can have it their parents. You are teaching them how to be good parents. If it is important to you, make it happen!

I need to find an old 1940's plastic doll?

Okay so my whole life my grandmother has talked about how at the fair once she won her first plastic doll in the 1940's. She was so happy and afterwards when her cousin came over the cousin put the doll on the stove and melted it right in front of her. My grandma admits that it makes her cry when she thinks about it and I wanted to find that doll for her.

The doll was plastic. It had blondish hair and its skin was light pink. She says that the doll didn't have synthetic hair or clothing. Instead it had hair and clothes painted onto the body just like clothes. The dress the doll had was hot pink. So basically the entire doll was pink. She said the blonde hair was like a dark blonde not normal blonde. It couldn't have been more than about 10 inches I assume and I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find one.

Will a size t-shirt in M40(uk measurments) fit a tall 145 lb. american girl well?

I orded a L42 from the internet and it was much too large.
In response to my answer from Bubbles, I am 5'8". My size choices are Small 36 or Medium 40. Thank you so much for your reply, I'm ordering off the internet so I have no idea what I'm doing. Also, I did order a Large 42 and it was much too big and baggy.

38 would have to be your size but 40 might be OK too. Actually if I knew your height it would be a better guess.
