Amazing Dolls Amazing McKayla Interactive
For a realistic take on what mommy does all day, introduce your little girl to McKayla. This interactive doll uses technology to let "mommy" learn what its like to feed, play with, talk to, change, and, of course, love a baby all day long. Voice recognition technology allows McKayla to learn your voice, turn toward you when you talk, and engage in two-way communication. Her speech improves gradually as you spend time with her. The more time you spend teaching her words, the faster she picks it up and the better her language becomes. Sensory technology allows McKayla to see and track objects, like her teddy bear, bottle, and feeding spoon. If mommy moves these things side to side in front of McKayla, the dolls head will follow the movements. Articulated animatronics provide her lifelike movement and expressions. McKayla will let you know she is hungry and will move her head to follow the spoon.

The batteries die!
Really un-happy, the batteries dies within 4 days of using it and all my 6 year old wanted it to do was sleep.
After reading the bad reviews this doll received I felt I had to add my own. Our 4 1/2 year old loves this doll. Yes you do have to wait until McKayla is done talking or moving to interact with her but this just re-enforces taking turns when speaking. She does have a specific design for play but there are lots of variations to play whether it be guessing animal sounds, silly faces, tracking her toys, spoon or bottle. People have complained about having to yell at the doll in order for it to hear them. We have found that if you talk clearly and try to avoid other noises in the room it works just fine. Overall this doll is very fun and interactive but you have to decide if it fits with your child. They have to be old enough to understand how she works and not to get frustrated while trying to figure her out. The only reason for the 4 stars is a battery issue. After 1 day McKayla started saying her batteries were getting tired and she needed to rest. Changed them out with fresh ones and put the old one in other toys and the worked just fine. Perhaps she didn’t need new batteries but just needed to sleep. I have emailed the company to hopefully get an answer to this.

Very Unhappy with Purchase
I bought this doll for my daughter at the end of December. We finally gave it to her last week. She has sat on a shelf, up high, until we had the chance to play with her…
I purchased this for my goddaughter. It was one of her first real baby dolls and at first she was very quiet. I guess she just couldn’t believe how real this baby seemed. But after a couple of minutes she just couldn’t get enough of her. They were actual having little conversations. I’m very pleased with my purchase and it was the right choice for her.

We love McKayla!
McKayla was a birthday gift for my 6 yr old. We have 3 girls and when McKayla is out she is the show! Everyone waits to see what she’ll do or ask for next.
My daughter was dying for this toy so we got it for her for her 5th birthday. My daughter is very soft spoken, so when you first open her up, she ask’s lot of questions to learn you’re voice and how which cry will mean what.. ect. Because my daughter didn’t speak loudly enough is started saying “I can’t hear you” and out of the blue say mommy love, I hungry, and wouldn’t shut up. My poor daughter started stressing out and I turned it off. She hasn’t played with it since. Before spending the 79 bucks on mckayla, see if you can try it out first.

Nice but not great
This was a gift from Santa to my daughter and it was exciting at first, but you practically have to yell at the doll for it to understand you and it doesn’t listen if it is…

my daughter loved this doll
Our second grade daughter really enjoys this doll. It does require many batteries though. However for the enjoyment I’d still recommend this toy.

MCKayla doll is a great buy
When my daughter “unwrapped” Mckayla on Christmas, she was instantly mesmerized with this life-like doll.

would be good for an older child
When playing with this doll you have to be very specific and use EXACTLY the words she will understand, and for my 4 year old this was very difficult.
