Washing Vintage Barbie Clothes?
I recently bought Barbie's Vintage Cheerleading outfit. The shirt has yellowed some plus it has red outlining. I wanted to what kind of detergent to use and how to wash it.

What I have done with virtually all of my vintage outfits...even the fragile ones is the following:
I washed out an empty pickle jar, or any glass jar of about that size, then added cold water and a cap full of Dawn Dish washing Liquid (making sure you mix the water and Dawn very well before adding clothes) and then add the key ingredient....ice cubes! After you put the clothes in the jar, shake vigorously for a couple of minutes and the ice cubes actually act like the agitator in your washing machine!!! I have let the clothes soak as well, but if heavily soiled....repeat the process AFTER changing the water and ice cubes!!!! To dry, I usually roll the article of clothing up in a white towel to get the excess moisture out of it, and then I place the item on the doll to "form dry". Hope this helps luv
