The teddy bear has been around a long time. Since 1902, to be exact. But Teddy was not only by the imagination a child. It was an escape from the Presidents of the hunt. Collectable Books Rupert Bear history?
Some history books of Rupert Bear are more useful than others. I think it has something to do with if your face is brown or white.
Rupert has a white face in Rupert Annuals and a brown face on the cover - for each year except 1973 (The cover shows Rupert waving a conifer).
