My 10 year old daughter discovered Steiff bears at a gift shop before Christmas and she adores them! Loves them! Dresses them in American Girl clothes and puts them to sleep in the American Girl bed that she got for the same birthday.
These are better than the mohair Steiff bears. The mohair bears are picky to touch and cost prohibitive; a 3″-4″ bear is about $100.00. But these are clever, fun and snuggly. I think that they are for kids who are in the 8-10 year age group because they are a bit pricey but they are cute and well made. They aren’t the stuffies to end up in the bottom of the toybox: they are better to set up on the bookshelf when they aren’t being played with. They come with a cardboard suitcase that they can fit into or their accessories can be kept in it too.
Steiff also makes other animals but she chose to collect the bears exclusively; I look forward to buying them for her until she outgrows them.
I like them more than Webkinz because she uses HER OWN IMAGINATION instead of the computer generated games/fun.

Great gift for any small child. The bear is adorable and very soft. The child I purchased this item for, loved the suitcase and used it for her doll’s clothes. Two gifts in one, you cannot ask for more! Shipped immediately as expected. I will purchase from this seller again!
